Da Nang startup innovation is catching up with global development trends
On the morning of July 30, the Da Nang Startup Innovation Festival – SURF 2025 officially opened with the theme "Policy Launchpad – Nurturing Unicorns", affirming Da Nang's role as a center for startups and innovation in the region and the country. In the context of transitioning to a digital, green, and circular economy, the city identifies science, technology, and innovation as key drivers, with numerous policies supporting startups along with plans to establish a Free Trade Zone and an International Financial Center.
Da Nang currently ranked 5th in the country for the local innovation index in 2024 and for the first time entered the Top 1,000 global startup ecosystems in 2025 (StartupBlink).
Within the framework of the event, the People's Committee of the city signed a cooperation agreement with CT Group, with the presence of leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Da Nang City Party Committee. The cooperation focuses on implementing breakthrough technology initiatives such as digital twin models, operating the carbon credit market, applying biotechnology, and developing the semiconductor industry.
The highlight of the event was the Final of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Competition 2025. 10 outstanding projects were provided with in-depth training and selected based on criteria of creativity, business model, and applicability. The project LocalLife.Asia won the First Prize; AIVOS and Rally AI won the Second and Third Prizes respectively; LotusEase received an Encouragement Prize.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of Karcher Vietnam Technology Cleaning Equipment Factory
On the afternoon of July 31, Indusvalley Chu Lai Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II of the Indusvalley Chu Lai Rental Factory Project – the manufacturing facility for cleaning equipment by Karcher Vietnam Technology. The event marked a new milestone in the investment cooperation between An An Hoa and Karcher Group (Federal Republic of Germany), coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.
Phase II was to commence following the successful completion of Phase I in October 2023, reaffirming Karcher’s strategic trust in the investment environment of Chu Lai and An An Hoa’s commitment to developing a smart, environmentally friendly industrial zone in Central Vietnam.
This event ushers in a deeper stage of cooperation between Vietnam and Germany across economic, technological, and environmental sectors. Da Nang city is committed to continuously facilitating favorable conditions for investors and partnering in development for the shared prosperity of the Central Region and the nation as a whole.

Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam – Korea Festival 2025
On the evening of August 1, the Vietnam – Korea Festival 2025 officially opened at East Sea Park, Da Nang. This festival marks the beginning of a new phase of comprehensive and effective cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities and partners across various sectors including investment, trade, tourism, agriculture, and science and technology.
Taking place from August 1 to 3, the festival featured a wide range of vibrant activities such as the “Meet Korea in Da Nang 2025” conference, an exhibition showcasing Vietnam–Korea cooperation achievements, 80 cultural and product booths, K-pop and Taekwondo classes, cultural exchanges, and a Vietnam–Korea cooking contest. Notably, the opening ceremony included a special welcome for the 999,999th, 1,000,000th, and 1,000,001st visitors—highlighting the strong and lasting ties between Da Nang and the Korean market over the past decade.

Opening Ceremony of the Digital Trade and Regional Connectivity Week – Da Nang 2025
On the evening of August 1, the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), held the opening ceremony of the Digital Trade and Regional Connectivity Week – Da Nang 2025. The event aimed to promote digital transformation and the development of e-commerce - key factors in optimizing supply chains, enhancing effective connections between producers, sellers, and consumers, while contributing to the development of a smart and modern city.
The week-long program is designed to support businesses and local vendors in adopting digital technologies in their operations and to promote signature and OCOP (One Commune One Product) items from various localities on e-commerce platforms. Taking place from August 1 to 3, the event featured more than 80 booths showcasing a wide variety of products, along with the participation of major digital platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, Zalo, VNPay, and others. Consumers were offered opportunities to experience cashless payments, hybrid online-offline shopping, livestream selling tutorials, and a range of engaging interactive activities.
At the opening ceremony, several businesses signed commitments to join the Digital Transformation Program for traditional market vendors, affirming their dedication to supporting the city's efforts in realizing the goal of digital economic development and strengthening regional connectivity in alignment with the Government’s strategic direction.
