Vietnam - U.S. Friendship Exchange Held in Da Nang
On the evening of June 22, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, in coordination with the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam and the Da Nang People's Committee, organized a Vietnam - U.S. Friendship Exchange program at Phan Dang Luu Boulevard, Da Nang. This event was part of a series celebrating 30 years of Vietnam - U.S. diplomatic relations.
Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, stated that the friendly relationship between Da Nang and U.S. localities and organizations has continuously expanded and deepened through delegation exchanges and cooperation agreements, particularly with cities like Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Houston.
The U.S. is currently a leading investor in Da Nang, with 89 projects totaling $511 million, ranking third among countries and territories with FDI in the city.
Additionally, people-to-people diplomatic activities between Da Nang and the U.S. have been vibrant, with active contributions from the American community and U.S. non-governmental organizations in education, healthcare, and community development

Da Nang hopes to leverage its advantageous location and potential to become a pioneer in deeply participating in the global supply chain initiated by the U.S., contributing to elevating the bilateral friendly relationship towards a comprehensive, stable, and sustainable partnership.
U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper highly praised the significance of this exchange program, viewing it as a vivid testament to the importance of people-to-people exchange—a sustainable foundation for the Vietnam - U.S. partnership.
The Ambassador emphasized that the U.S. always supports a strong, independent, prosperous, and resilient Vietnam , while affirming respect for Vietnam's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political system.
He expressed gratitude for the effective cooperation with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Da Nang city authorities on the occasion of this important milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
The Vietnam - U.S. Friendship Exchange program attracted approximately 3,000 participants and featured various activities, including cultural and sports exchanges, traditional games from both countries, and visits to exhibition booths showcasing culture, cuisine, and information on Vietnam - U.S. relations, Da Nang city, and the activities of non-governmental organizations and businesses from both sides
