Share and exchange experiences in organizing APEC conferences and international events with Kien Giang province

On the afternoon of February 25, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh had a meeting with the Kien Giang Provincial Working Delegation led by Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai, to exchange experiences in organizing the 2017 APEC conference and international events.

At the meeting, Da Nang shared its experience in organizing the 2017 APEC Summit Week, which attracted 11,000 delegates, including 2,000 businessmen and 3,000 reporters. The city has invested in upgrading its infrastructure, established the APEC Steering Committee since 2015, coordinated closely with the Central Government, organized security drills and ensured medical conditions, services, and image promotion.

Chairman Le Trung Chinh congratulated Kien Giang on being chosen to host APEC 2027 and affirmed his readiness to support and share experiences to make the event a success.

Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee thanked Da Nang for the welcome and appreciated the information sharing and hoped the two localities would continue to cooperate closely in the coming time.

The City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association received the First-Class Labor Medal

On the morning of February 28, the City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association celebrated its 28th anniversary of establishment (1997-2025), received the First-Class Labor Medal and organized the spring meeting program "Warmth of human love".

Over the past 28 years, the City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association has developed more than 12,500 members, mobilized to build and repair more than 1,300 houses, awarded 43,770 scholarships, donated 7,500 wheelchairs, supported the care of hundreds of orphans and lonely elderly people, organized nearly 2,400 communication sessions, ad received and supported nearly 100 cases of children’s rights violations. The total operating value is more than 600 billion VND.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh acknowledged the Association's humanitarian contributions, protecting children's rights, contributing to ensuring social security and socio-economic development of the city. At the same time, he emphasized that Da Nang would continue to maintain welfare policies, increase the level of support for people with meritorious services, poor households and expand recipients receiving social assistance in the coming time.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh awarded the First-Class Labor Medal to the City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association.

The Association received more than 16.8 billion VND for the spring meeting program "Warmth of Humanity" from 31 organizations, businesses and philanthropists to support charitable activities during the year.

Da Nang and Italy Promote Cooperation and Expand Investment Opportunities

At a meeting with Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Enrico Padula on the morning of February 26, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh affirmed that the city is ready to support the organization location and necessary procedures for the 2025 Italian Expo Da Nang to take place in November 2025.

The exhibition promises to become an important platform, contributing to expanding cooperation and attracting investment in the fields of trade and services between the two sides.

In addition, the Vice President requested the Consul General and the Italian Business Association to increase the organization of art performances and cultural exchanges, while boostinging promotion and calling for Italian investors to come to Da Nang to survey and seek opportunities for cooperation and business development.

Da Nang and Vingroup Collaborate to Promote Green Transition and Sustainable Development

On the afternoon of June 25, the City People's Committee and Vingroup signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting green transformation and sustainable development in the period 2025–2030.

The two sides will cooperate in the fields of green tourism, green transportation and green lifestyle. In particular, Da Nang and Vingroup will launch the movement "Strong Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future", encourage the use of electric vehicles, deploy SM Green electric taxis, research and develop the Da Nang - Hue electric bus route and expand charging station infrastructure throughout the city.

In addition to transportation, the two sides also cooperate to develop carbon credit projects, green urban areas, social housing, free trade zones, and financial centers. At the same time, Vingroup and Da Nang will research and cooperate in the fields of science and technology, innovation and training of high-quality human resources, especially in semiconductor circuits and artificial intelligence.
